By   the end of 2017, there are 17,760 subsistence allowance recipients from   10,581 families. 82.3392 million Yuan RMB(about USD 13 million) were granted.   Those who may need subsistence allowance have been put under and managed in   social relief information system. There are 11,687 persons of this kind from   4,386 families.

The   policy of providing medical assistance and emergency assistance for disease   treatment has been implemented. 42.6293 million Yuan RMB(about USD 6.5   million) for medical assistance have been allocated. 57,798 persons have   received the assistance. 7.9128 million Yuan RMB(about USD 1.2 million) for   temporary assistance have been granted. 20,297 persons have received   assistance of this type.

There   are 70 elderly care institutions with 9,290 beds, which accounts for 3.97% of   all the elderly in Linhai. All those residents who have no labor capacity, source   of income, and legal supporters and 99.3% of residents who receive subsidies   for food, clothing, medical care, housing and burial expenses have been   provided proper care. 731 community-based and at-home elderly care facilities   in urban and rural areas have been built.
