Linhai   has been titled National Historical and Cultural City, National Advanced Cultural   City, China Model County for Chinese Cultural Heritage Protection, First   Batch Model Area for Public Cultural Services in Zhejiang Province,   Comprehensive Trial County of Intangible Heritage in Zhejiang Province.   Taizhou City Wall is listed in Chinese World Cultural Heritage Tentative   List. In Linhai, there is one National Advanced Culture Community, five   Provincial Model Culture Villages, two Provincial Model Culture Communities.   There are 130 sites under protection at various levels, among which, three major   sites are protected for their historical and cultural value at national level,   16 sites are protected for their historical and cultural value at provincial   level, one fossil protection zone at provincial level. There are 196   intangible heritage items, among which, two are at national level(Huangsha   Lion and Linhai Cidiao), 21 are at provincial level. There are provincial   level intangible heritage teaching bases and two Chinese Folk Culture and Art   Towns. There are five large cultural and recreational squares, seven   town/neighborhood libraries, five harmony and happiness book bars, 191   village cultural auditoriums, 1,021 grass root cultural activity centers.
