Linhai is located at eastern coastal area of Zhejiang province. It is at the south wing of Yangtze River Delta economic circle. It is a sub-center city of Taizhou. It is located from northern latitudes 28°40′ to northern latitudes 29°04′, and from eastern longitude 120°49′ to 121°56′. It is embraced by mountains on three sides and faces sea on one side. Of its land area, 70% are mountainous areas, 10% are covered by water, 20% are tillable farmlands. 64.2% of the city are covered by forests.
